How to play Cloud Hopper
Cloud Hopper is a free helicopter game set over Harare. You fly a small red helicopter with a pilot and two passengers through a sky that gets busier the longer you last.
Play nowControls
| ↑ | Hop upward. Gravity always pulls the helicopter down, so keep tapping. Holding the key gives a little extra lift. |
| ↓ | Dive faster. |
| ← → | Ease back or push forward. Pushing forward also makes the world rush at you faster. |
| P | Pause and resume. |
| M | Sound on or off. |
On a phone or tablet, arrow buttons appear under the game.
Lives
You have three rotors. Flying into a cloud, a black SUV, a skyscraper or the stadium costs one, and the helicopter flashes for a moment while it recovers. Lose all three and the helicopter falls to the ground and burns.
Scoring
- Every metre you fly scores a point.
- A bag of cash bursts open for 100 points.
- A luxury car is worth 500 points.
- Pass within 10 feet of an obstacle without touching it for a 50-point close call. The panel in the corner shows how many feet you are above a building.
Flying over Harare
Three landmarks rise from the ground as obstacles: the Headquarters tower with its rooster emblem, the blue glass Reserve Bank tower, and the wide oval of the Stadium with its floodlight masts. Hop over the towers and stay up for the whole crossing of the stadium.
Getting harder
A new level begins every 20 seconds. The first levels are gentle: small clouds, plenty of cash to collect and short towers. From around level 5 the sky fills quickly. Clouds start bobbing, storm clouds appear, towers grow taller and arrive more often, and by level 12 everything moves at full speed.
